Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has announced plans to inspect Early Childhood Development Education(ECDE) classroom construction projects in the county, warning contractors that payment will be withheld for poor-quality work.
Speaking during the launch of an ECD learning materials distribution program in Bumula, Lusaka expressed his frustration over the unacceptable conditions at some schools, where young learners have been subjected to unsafe and unhygienic environments due to faulty construction.
"I want to make it clear to contractors handling ECD projects that shoddy work will not be tolerated. For instance, the contractor responsible for this particular school should not expect payment until they return and rectify this emphatically,” said Lusaka.
The Governor’s comments come in response to ongoing concerns over the state of some ECD classrooms, where substandard building practices have raised safety and health alarms.
He emphasized that his administration will not allow the future of young children to be compromised by negligent construction.

Furthermore, UDA will integrate ANC’s secretariat, including its directors and other senior leaders, into the new structure.
A merger committee has been formed to oversee the successful integration of both parties, with a 90-day deadline for completing all related activities.
This period will focus on finalizing the branding, leadership changes, and administrative adjustments to ensure the new unified party is fully operational.
